Our Purpose

The purpose of this site is to provide an overview of American history and show its vital relevance to our current time. It is a collection of information, historic documents, writings and images to enable viewers and students to more easily understand the events and know about the people that have made our nation what it is today.

Our busy world leaves little time to know all the exact dates and details, or to read but a fraction of the brilliantly written works and letters from the great people in our history. We can, however, survey character and meaning and extract a high-hill view of the events, actions and thinking that have combined to forge us as a unique social, economic and governmental entity.

We don’t have to know every word of our constitution, but we surely should know it’s basic structure, and areas such as article 1, section 8, article 2, section 2, and amendments 1,2,4,5,9 and 10. We should all know the character of Washington and Lincoln, the brilliant minds of Jefferson and Madison and the wit of Franklin… The powerful economic ideas of Hamilton or the passionate charges by Thomas Paine and Patrick Henry.

These voices should ring in our thoughts as the gold standard of what we should expect from those who hold the reigns of leadership in today’s government, businesses, schools, churches, and media.
